Specialised in technical cleanliness.

For more than 20 years TecClean has supported companies in automotive, mechanical engineering, medical technology and industry with residual contamination analysis. As a DAkkS-accredited testing laboratory we focus on technical cleanliness. Thanks to this specialisation and lean structures, we process enquiries and test orders particularly efficiently.

  • since 2012DAkkS-accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025
  • 1 to 2 working daysexpress for suitable parcels, excluding day of delivery

What is on your desk?

Choose your starting point. You do not need to be an expert in technical cleanliness.

Residual contamination analysis according to VDA 19.1 or ISO 16232

  • You send the drawing, limit value or customer requirement.
  • We clarify test scope, extraction method and number of samples.
  • Extraction, filtration, gravimetry and light-microscopic evaluation, plus the test report.

Testing to OEM, factory and customer test specifications

  • Send us the factory standard, drawing or test specification that applies to your order.
  • Many of these are methodically based on VDA 19.1 or ISO 16232.
  • We check feasibility and scope and agree the next steps directly with you.

Filter evaluation for customer-side extraction

  • Analysis filters, filter membranes, particle stamps and tape-lift samples by agreement.
  • We need details of sampling, extraction method and test objective.
  • Extraction at the customer is not an accredited TecClean process.

Bath samples and process media

  • Particulate load in the cleaning bath.
  • Comparison before and after filtration, filter performance of the system.
  • No chemical or film analysis of the bath.

Parcel-sized samples

Is your sample suitable for our express service?

Simply send your components as a parcel. For compact components and test lots we offer lean, direct processes. Parcel-sized samples can be processed particularly quickly and efficiently.

  • under 15 kg per sample or test lot
  • smaller than 700 × 400 × 400 mm
  • easy to ship as a parcel
  • test requirement according to VDA 19.1, ISO 16232, an OEM or factory standard
  • technical feasibility confirmed

For suitable parcel-sized samples we offer, after technical consultation, express processing within 1 to 2 working days. The day of delivery is not counted. This requires a sufficiently clarified test scope and available test equipment and capacity. We confirm feasibility before we confirm the order.

Larger or heavier components

Larger or heavier components can generally be tested as well. We agree feasibility, handling, test method and processing time with you individually, as well as the extraction method, test area, transport and packaging. We cannot promise express processing for these across the board.

01 · Residual contamination analysis

Rinse off, collect and evaluate particles.

In a residual contamination analysis we remove the particles from the component with a suitable extraction method, filter the test liquid and evaluate the analysis filter gravimetrically and under the light microscope.

  • Extraction by spraying, rinsing, shaking, ultrasound or air extraction, depending on component and specification
  • Extraction media: suitable solvents or deionised water
  • Gravimetric analysis and optical particle classification
  • Documentation in the test report as required by the standard
  • VDA 19.1
  • ISO 16232
  • OEM and factory standards

VDA 19.1, ISO 16232 or your factory standard.

The specification for your component is usually on the drawing or the purchase order. If not, we clarify it with you.

Guideline of the German Association of the Automotive Industry for determining particulate contamination on functionally relevant automotive components. We are accredited to the 2015-03 edition with extraction methods E.1 to E.4 and analysis methods F.1 to F.3.

Request VDA 19.1 testing

International standard for extraction, analysis and documentation of particulate contamination, widely used in international supply chains. Accredited to the 2018-12 edition, excluding the methods of clauses 9.3 and 9.4.

Request ISO 16232 testing

In addition to VDA 19.1 and ISO 16232, TecClean regularly carries out residual contamination and cleanliness analyses according to OEM, factory and customer test specifications. Many of these manufacturer-specific requirements are methodically based on the principles of technical cleanliness according to VDA 19.1 or ISO 16232 and are implemented according to the applicable test specification.

Testing to factory standards

Repeated extractions on the same component show that the selected method captures the particles sufficiently. The results serve as the basis for later series testing.

03 · Express service

Small samples, short distances, fast results.

For time-critical projects, production start-ups, complaints and short-notice customer requirements, we process suitable parcel-sized samples with priority.

  • Express processing within 1 to 2 working days after the day of delivery, after technical consultation
  • Guide values: under 15 kg and smaller than 700 × 400 × 400 mm
  • Test scope sufficiently clarified, test equipment and capacity available
  • Direct contacts and short response times

We confirm actual feasibility before we confirm the order. Express does not apply to every component across the board.

04 · Filters, stamps, bath samples

No component needed: filters and bath samples.

Some customers carry out the extraction themselves and only send the evaluation medium. Others want to know how heavily their cleaning bath is loaded with particles.

Customer-side extraction

After technical consultation we evaluate suitable analysis filters, filter membranes, particle stamps and tape-lift samples and issue a test report. How meaningful the result is depends on correct sampling and documentation.

Bath samples and process media

We analyse suitable bath samples from industrial cleaning systems, for example regarding the particulate load, the filter performance or the bath load over the process time.

You do not need to be an expert in technical cleanliness.

Send us your requirement, drawing or test specification. Together with you, we clarify in a few steps which test scope makes sense and is technically feasible.

Distance to the laboratory rarely matters.

Samples and components are sent to us from Germany and many European countries by parcel or freight forwarder. For parcel-sized samples, physical proximity to the laboratory is usually not decisive.

By parcel

Send compact components and test lots securely packed. Please enclose contact person, part designation, test specification and the desired processing time.

By freight forwarder

Larger or heavier components after individual agreement on handling, packaging and transport.
